Netscape 6 is working oddly - or not at all - with quite a few of our
databases, including our WebPAC. We have advised our users to keep an older
copy of their preferred browser around for just these kinds of
circumstances.

Just in the past couple of weeks, there was a small rash of email regarding
Netscape 6 on Autocat, the catalogers' discussion list. The problems seem
to be fairly systematic, regardless of what setup the library has. Netscape
6 doesn't seem to be widely compliant overall.

Subject: Netscape 6.0 and proxy server

I can't seem to get Netscape 6.0 to work with the proxy server. When the
automatic proxy server config. is enabled, the browser 'hangs' and
cannot connect to any servers.

Any one else experience this?
Any solutions?
