- Subject: patron self-renewal of ILLs
Are patrons supposed to be able to renew Inter-library loans in the
WebOPAC? I thought this was forbidden, although I can't find any
reference in the Manual. But in our system at least they are able to
renew ILLs - if and only if the loans are overdue! (If they try during
the regular loan period, there is no error message, but the due date is
not changed.)
Has anybody else encountered this problem?
The loan rule is set to allow one renewal (by staff, was the idea), and
TIME REMAINING B4 RENEW is set to allow this renewal anytime during the
loan period.
The Circulation Parameter 38 ("Renewals: overdue item can be renewed")
is set to Yes; my guess is that this decisions somehow overrides another
rule blocking self-renewal of ILLs.
