- Subject: Linked booklists
We have a small (but growing) collection of web page booklists that are
linked to our web catalog. Most of the ones that we have right now are
children's books-- popular series, awards and holiday booklists.
We have these all in one directory, with a page that lists all of them,
which our member libraries can use to find booklists and link to them from
their own library websites. We also encourage them to copy these and
customize them by changing the scopes of the searches, adding their own
graphics, etc., for their own websites.
We're sending out the URL for this page,
http://www.noblenet.org/booklists/, in case these booklists are useful as
a starting point for other Innovative libraries working on their own
booklist projects. You may be able to adapt our lists to work for your
own system with just a search and replace command to change catalog URL to
yours, and by replacing our NOBLE graphic. Of course, all searches were
constructed to work on our system, and you may need to change some of
these to work right on your system. But even if you do, you may find it
easier to start with our file than to start from scratch.
If you're interested in any of these, feel free to just help yourself.
We'll be improving the ones that are there with better graphics,
annotations, etc., as time permits, and adding new ones. And, of course,
if any other customers have booklists that they are willing to make freely
available for copying and adaptation, we'd like to hear from you-- this
seems like an area where cooperative work would benefit everyone.
