SYSTEMS LIBRARIAN FOR INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES: Supervised by the Head of
Systems Development, this key position is responsible for administration of
Library's public, internet and faculty support web servers as well as
general oversight of the Innovative Interfaces Integrated library system.
Utilizing appropriate technologies such as Perl scripting, CGI, JavaScript,
etc, this position participates in development of creative/innovative
internet-based means to support and enhance library services/resources and
internal processes/procedures.  This person develops, maintains and
communicates as in-depth knowledge of emerging Internet and digital
information technologies, standards, processes and procedures.  Active
group and on-on-one training/teaching/ sharing is expected.  Working in
highly collaborative environment, this position works with the Digital
Services Center and serves on library-wide committees, teams, working
groups and task forces.   This person has a subject-based collection
development assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: ALA accredited Master's degree in
library/information science; in-depth knowledge of and experience with Unix
operating systems; knowledge and experience in web-authoring; knowledge and
application of Perl and CGI scripting languages; understanding of current
internet technologies and standards. Experience operating a integrated
library system.  Excellent written, verbal and training communication
skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred: knowledge of Windows NT; understanding of SGML, EAD and XML,
knowledge of digital library activities, standards and technologies.
Professional library experience desirable.
Candidate will be asked to give a 10-15 presentation on a relevant topic.
SALARY:  $33,000 minimum.  Good benefits package
