Thanks, David. Have you and your patrons been quite happy with AVS? Any reservations about it?

  Best wishes,
   Anne.

Has anyone found any neat ways of helping patrons find terms such as E-Commerce as keywords?
<<<

In Advanced Keyword Searching, this just works, so the problem would be solved for you if you eventually make the switch. Of course, you
have to keep in mind that "ecommerce" and "e-commerce" are used interchangeably and that to correctly find them all, you have to enter a
search like "ecommerce or e-commerce" at least until Innovative fixes the left truncation problems in AVS...

In regular keyword searching, I don't think there is any way to get this. Unfortunately, you can't use the synonym list for this because the
innopac is throwing out the first part of the search before even looking at the synonym list.

Here's some funny things though:

1. If you search by word "commerce" and then limit by words in the title to "e-commerce" it works! Of course you won't get the records with
e-commerce in a note field, but heh, it's a start!
2. If you search "e-commerce" and then scroll through the list of titles that match the "commerce" part until you find a record with
"e-commerce" in it, you will see that the innopac will correctly mark the entire phrase "e-commerce" with your chosen keyword color
(occassionaly, it will mark the letter "e" if it is at the start of any word as well).

Sometimes the innopac can be so silly... :-)

HTH,
