This is exactly what we want. We never had the III character-based
catalog, and didn't have call numbers indexed on our old system, and we
definitely find that patrons click on the call number expecting more about
the item, and are confused and disappointed. I certainly don't want to
give up having the call numbers (ours are all item) indexed, but would
definitely support either or (preferably) both of the following:
* Keep the call number index option within the title/item display of the
webcat, but make it a separate option rather than having the call number
itself clickable
* Add a wwwoption to offer or not offer the ability to initiate a call
number index search from the title/item screen.
