RE: Format recorded in item record

We also use Itype for recording item formats. But instead of having two codes
for each format, we use the status code to distinguish between circulating and
non-circulating materials. Our loan rules are written so that items with a
non-circulating status cannot be checked out. We do, however, use Itype for
materials which have been placed on reserve by faculty, and which have special
loan periods (overnight, 4 hours, and so on).
