- Subject: Innovative Contract
Greetings--
I am a newcomer to this list so I hope my question is appropriate.
Due to the age of our library system hardware we are looking at either
replacing just the hardware now or going out and looking at new systems. If
we elect to install a new system from another vendor (we are currently a
Dynix user) we would need to fast track our process.
One idea we came up with was to look at the possibility of piggybacking onto
another library's contract. This would save us some time, effort, and money
if it could work out.
If there are any California libraries out there which have recently
negotiated a contract with Innovative and know of no restrictions on
piggybacking could you please let me know? Our purchasing department is
limiting us to California libraries but we are open to all types (academic,
public, etc.) if the contract would meet our needs. We are especially
interested in consortia as we are a community college district with 5
libraries.
Any other comments on your negotiations with, and migration to, Innovative
would also be appreciated.
Thank you.
