While I don't really think that this would work very well in libraries with multiple holdings locations, you can pull up a checkin record with a URI. I think it might be confusing to patrons if they didn't see all of the available checkin records first.

Just construct it like so:

http://sculib.scu.edu/search/.b/.b/1,1,1,B/cC108927 

Why it works, I couldn't tell you. And because it is undocumented, don't completely depend on it working forever. At any time, III could change the way that their server reacts to this construct.
