I have tried Excel and Word and WordPerfect and none of them are able to
handle the longer strings that some of the really long titles produce.
Titles are wrapped which does not allow me to convert the space to a + sign.

I think I will try the bib record number as others have mentioned.  I will
report the solution to the list.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and recommendations.

I think Ruth might have overlooked a step.  In addition to the title in the
search string, Ben needs the title to display as the link (i.e. <a
href="URL">title</a>).  You should be able to accomplish this by adding a
step
between 4 and 5:

4.5.  Copy the contents of column B into column C (you should have two
identical
columns)

Step 6 should be rewritten to read: 6. In column _D_, use find and replace
to
replace "nothing" with </a>
