Position Vacancy:  Technology Team Leader (Analyst/Programmer
III/SG-115)

Position Objective
The Technology Team Leader reports to the Deputy Director of the
University Library and coordinates development and management of all
aspects of the CWRU online library system(s), as well as a wide variety
of other technology programs for the CWRU campus libraries.  The Team
Leader supervises the CWRU INNOPAC/OhioLINK operations, coordinating
with staff in all campus libraries. The Team Leader engages in research
and development which includes analyzing, evaluating, recommending,
beta-testing, developing, implementing, maintaining and supporting
advanced-technology electronic information delivery systems and
subsystems for CWRUnet as related to the libraries¹ role in the
technology-enabled classes. The position leads discussions with other
campus libraries as to technological innovations that the libraries may
wish to adopt. The position works closely with staff responsible for
hardware and software technical issues and supports technical innovation
as related to digital library initiatives.

The incumbent supervises one Analyst/Programmer II (currently vacant)
and student assistants, and coordinates efforts with the Digital Library
Services Specialist.

Working Conditions
This position can be expected to provide periods of high stress.
Employee must be able to maintain composure and professionalism during
crisis situations when applications are down which are essential to
researchers and support staff with expectation levels of 7 days per
week, 24-hours per day availability.  During periods of implementation
and at other times, occasional overtime is required.

Employee must be physically capable of transporting computer server and
peripheral equipment over short distances to a maximum of 50 pounds per
component item.

Requirements
Education:
- BA or BS degree
- Appropriate experience may be substituted for education.

Prior Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of systems analysis, software engineering, information
technologies or networked applications development including 3 years of
INNOPAC library systems management experience.
- Experience with multiple operating systems, including but not limited
to Windows and Unix. Experience with MARC, TCP/IP, Ether-net and HTTP
protocols.

Other Skills:
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills, both
oral and written.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a technical environment.
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation in previous assignments.
- Demonstrated initiative and commitment to making professional
contributions.
- Ability to exercise meticulous care in the assumption of
responsibility for the maintenance, control and accessibility of
valuable materials.
- Ability to work with staff at all levels.

SALARY/BENEFITS:  CWRU offers a competitive salary and benefits package,
including tuition benefits for employees, spouses, and dependents.
Starting salary range is $47,420 - $53,730.
