Job Type: Professional 
Job Title: Associate Librarian, HU-11 Minimum $35,049. Annually 
General Functions: Under the supervision of the Head of the Cataloging
Department, this position maintains and enhances the bibliographic database
and online public access (WebPAC). Catalogs and classifies all forms of
library materials using cataloging standards & tools including AACR2 rev.,
LC Classifications, LCSH, LCRIs, and LC Cataloging Manual, etc. Edits OCLC
problematic records. Assists Authority Control outsourcing & in-house
management. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: MLS from an ALA accredited library
information school. Experience in OCLC and an automatic integrated library
system (e.g. Innopac) desired. Basic knowledge of metadata standards &
mark-up languages (e.g. HTML, XML). Working knowledge of one or more foreign
languages preferred. Knowledge of microcomputer applications. Strong
interdisciplinary knowledge, and skilled and flexible approach to the use of
information technology. Must be knowledgeable about current trends in
cataloging and bibliographic control. Commitment to professional development
and training. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to
establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with
students, staff, faculty, University officials and the general public.
Competence in both oral and written English
