- Subject: Saving spine labels to a disk
I looked through the archives and did not see this question asked before.
Hopefully, it is not a repeat.
We are about to install the Innopac GUICAT software, but are having some
problems with spine label printing. Currently, we have our copy catalogers
save the spine labels to a floppy disk through a OCLC Passport macro. The
disks are handed to students for printing soon after the cataloging has
been completed.
With GUICAT, we would like to maintain this current workflow.
Unfortunately, Innovative tells us that it is not possible in GUICAT to
save spine labels directly to a file that can be printed at a later time.
I realize we can copy/paste from the spine label editing box in GUICAT, but
we'd like a more automated solution.
Has anyone else dealt with this type of spine label issue, and if so, how
was the problem resolved? Is there no other way to solve this except a
change in workflow (for example - having copy catalogers print out their
own labels)?
TIA,
J. Michael Thompson
