- Subject: Advanced Searching - Wildcard bug
There's a bug in keyword searches using the "?" wildcard.
In preparing for the installation of Advanced Searching here, my colleague
Chris Mays noticed that the "?" symbol does not work as a
replacement for a character in all cases. For example, "wom?n" works
fine but "b?rd" does not work [that is, to find authors Byrd & Bird].
Innovative tested it, too, and agrees that does not work in the first 2
character positions. They will change their documentation.
