Full-time, year-round position available for a
dynamic individual to help the library maintain
its highly computerized environment.
Responsibilities include: support both
Macintosh and PC desktop computers in
library public and staff areas; assist with the
maintenance and growth of the Library's
internet presence; handle desktop training
and support; software configuration; remote
management of lab machines; and various
library technology projects. This position
offers the opportunity for continued learning
and growth in the rapidly changing technology
landscape, and works closely with the
campus Computer and Information Services
department. Requirements include: College
degree; demonstrated expertise in the use,
set-up and troubleshooting of both Mac and
PC hardware and software; knowledge of
Windows95/NT/2000; knowledge of HTML
and web editors; excellent interpersonal,
written and oral communication skills; strong
organizational, analytical , and customer
service skills; creative problem-solving
abilities and initiative; the ability to provide
individual and group technical support and
training with sensitivity to differing learning
styles; and the ability to work cooperatively
and collegially in a rapidly changing
environment. PERL and/or C programming,
experience with UNIX operating systems, and
familiarity with network print and file services
is highly desirable. Applications received by
