Gisele,
Here at the University of Arizona Library when preparing to print the
notices there is an option of adding the outstanding fines amount to the
notices.

                            Prepare Overdue Notices

                    P > PRINT notices with 1 item
                    Q > QUIT
                    Choose one (P,Q) p

Should the notices also contain the total amount the
patron owes the library from all fines and bills? (y/n)

Just choose y and even the e-mail notices include the outstanding fines
amount. This function is available on all the notices for overdues, recalls
etc.

Subject: Question on Notices

We at Perry Library at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia are
preparing for the implementation of
III email notices. We have successfully implemented email notification
for
recall and hold available notices.
However, in order to comply with auditor requirements, at least 3 overdue
notices must contain the dollar amounts outstanding on each notice before
accounts can be sent to collection.

We are currently sending 3 notices to patrons.

The first overdue at 7 days does not include an amount outstanding per
item;
the amount is added manually for each notice.

The 2nd notice is the Bill for Replacement with a replacement charge for
each
amount.

The 3rd notice is a statement of charges which requires using a boolean
search
and two sets of notices from which a thired set is obtained for the required
month.

I am looking for any information or suggestions for producing 3 notices
with
outstanding amounts for each item which
can be emailed without requiring manual process or manipulation.

If you can assist or provide any information or suggestions, please
respond to
gmcadoo@xxxxxxxxxx.

  Thank you.
