June,

If I understand your email correctly you plan to use the INTL use field to
'earmark' items so that you can pull those items into a review file. [We do
this occasionally using an ICODE field and the III Rapid Updating
function - but that works only if you use a scanner attached to an Innopac
workstation it does not work with a hand-held scanner or similar device].

Back to your question: how do you get an ASCII text file with barcodes into
Innopac and processed as INTL use transactions:

1. the barcodes have to have the appropriate prefix, e.g.
for inventory scanning they look like this:

n:35105000955365
n:35105003728348
n:35105003728355
n:35105003728355

I don't know what the code for INTL use is but perhaps another list member
could provide that. (I'm not sure if this is in the III manual)
If you don't use the III hand-held scanners, you need to find a different
way to add the prefix, e.g. search & replace function in word processor)

2. Import the above file into III using the applicable option under
Circulation , Process PC transactions,
(Check the manual for details) then use the function 'Process transferred
usage counts' which is found in the same menu.
Again, the prefix is critical for correct processing

Just one caution about using the INTL use: there is a chance that someone
may have unintentionally entered some INTL uses.
We don't use the Copy Use field in the Innopac but a few always creep in
during the year.
