P > Convert routing file to use PATRON record numbers

Hello,
Has anyone gone through the process listed above?  This ties routing
records for people  (identified by a 3-digit alphanumeric code) to their
patron records (in the Circ module).  Currently we add routees to lists by
using their 3-letter code.  After this conversion is complete, does it mean
you have to add people to routing lists using their patron record number
instead?  We would like to do it in order to view the route lists in
Millennium by last name, first initial rather than by 3-digit routing codes,
but entering the data by patron record number is going to cause some
workflow issues as we route to over 1,400 people.  Thanks for any info!
