Hello, my dear, Yes I have had a very few experiences with the first
situation, but not often enough to establish any pattern or call it a
perpetual problem. (See below)

Our library install Innopac 2000 and since then have encounter more
than a
few problem. One of these is the Hold module. Patron place a hold and
when
they come to collect the book, the systems fails to update the hold
info
and his/her name is still in the queue. Hence even though there is no
one
in the queue, systems assume there is someone in the hold and shorten
the
lending period.
I've seen this situation, but infrequently. Sometimes the system will
not remove the patron so that they return the book and immediately
receive a notice telling them that the same book is available for them
to pick up. Hasn't happened, to my knowledge, for a long time, and only
3 or 4 times as I recall.
Another strange incident is that when he/she comes to
collect the item, systems prompts "Item on hold for another patron
.pxxxxxx. Checkout item anyway". This another patron is second in line
on
the hold.
This is news to me. I don't recall ever seeing this situation before.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Our staff has to say y to allow the checkout to this patron who
is first in line. Again, after the checkout, systems fails to update
the
hold queue and he is still in the hold queue. This is causing a great
deal
of confusion and inconvenience to us. Have other libraries who have
been
"upgraded" to release 2000 experienced this problem? Is 2000 pre
maturely
released before it is fully tested?
