Our library install Innopac 2000 and since then have encounter more than a
few problem. One of these is the Hold module. Patron place a hold and when
they come to collect the book, the systems fails to update the hold info
and his/her name is still in the queue. Hence even though there is no one
in the queue, systems assume there is someone in the hold and shorten the
lending period. Another strange incident is that when he/she comes to
collect the item, systems prompts "Item on hold for another patron
.pxxxxxx. Checkout item anyway". This another patron is second in line on
the hold. Our staff has to say y to allow the checkout to this patron who
is first in line. Again, after the checkout, systems fails to update the
hold queue and he is still in the hold queue. This is causing a great deal
of confusion and inconvenience to us. Have other libraries who have been
"upgraded" to release 2000 experienced this problem? Is 2000 pre maturely
released before it is fully tested?
