Early on we had a problem with dumb terminals interfering with 3M gates -
the alarm wouldn't go off when it was supposed to - so folks in our campus
physical plant built us heavy metal (aluminum?) 5-sided boxes that we st
the monitors as a shield. WE now have newer 3M gates that don't have this
problem. However, we have several dumb terminals close to a 3M
sensitizer/desensitizer, and these have problems (flickering screen, going
dead) that i think must be due to this proximity. If I bring one of the
"sick" terminals to my office for a few days they seem to "get well" and do
fine ..
