Sarah,
This is our first year using Innovative for acquisitions. I created an
outline on how to set up a macro for downloading records from OCLC to
Innopac, which I will attach to this message. You will of course need to
know what string of commands you want to send. The string should start with
949 *recs=bo;. This will create a bib and order record at the same time.
You can find instructions on how to configure this in the Innopac Manual on
page 73. Your load table will need to be configured correctly to allow this
to happen.
When we download here we first find a matching record on OCLC. Then page
down (pdn) to see the last field number in the record. Then page up (pup)
to the beginning of the record. Type in the number of what will be the next
field line number and then space over and type the 949 field command. Send
this command. Then export the record (xpo). Then you must unedited the
line you have created at the bottom of the record (ue). Then you find your
next record. Now, you only need to export (xpo) after each record. The
system retains the command and enters each record following that command
until you change the command. You need to start each session this way.
After that you will need to upload the records into Innovative. If these
instructions are not clear, please, give me a call and I will try and walk
you through it.

Subject: macros question
Does anyone know how to set up a macro for downloading records from
OCLC to
Innopac so that both bib and order records will be downloaded, and
so that
the command will carry over to all records downloaded during an OCLC
session. I asked the Innovative help desk and they suggested asking
the
list. Thank you for sharing this information.
