Hayward Public Library has been experiencing a degradation in PC telnet connectivity to our INNOPAC within the libraries. Today it takes 15 seconds to get a login prompt. I have asked our network consultant to check into things.

We have been having these problems on and off since December. Sometimes staff is shut out (too many connections messages from the INNOPAC.)

ONE potential culprit was a couple of proxy servers in a local school district that were running a software product called "cacheflow", I believe. This servers were hitting our WebPAC about every 8 minutes and filling up our logs and, I think, using up sessions. On studying the logs for http hits, I see that a few other IPs are possibly using this software.

Am working with Innovative on this and they are helpful. But problems persist. Am curious. Has anyone out there experienced similar problems?
