Mieko's definitely right on this point (#12529 in R2000). Sorry for any
confusion I may have caused. The only way to remove duplicates is to not
have them there in the first place, which sorta eliminates using append. Of
course you could use the append feature without creating duplicates if the
"does not have" feature worked and you were really careful with your search
strategies... :-)
Looks like we have a really simple but important enhancement request to ask
for...
