Lisa,
You might be referring to the discussion I started about this time last year.
Check the archives for my name.
We had 40 review files and were adding 40 more. Using what I learned from
others, and playing with the numbers in Excel, I ended up with two schemes to
choose from:
50 @ 1,000 = 50,000
10 @ 5,000 = 50,000
5 @ 10,000 = 50,000
6 @ 25,000 = 150,000
5 @ 50,000 = 250,000
2 @ 100,000 = 200,000
2 @ 250,000 = 500,000
80 files totaling 1,250,000
OR
35 @ 1,000 = 35,000
16 @ 2,500 = 40,000
10 @ 5,000 = 50,000
5 @ 10,000 = 50,000
5 @ 25,000 = 125,000
5 @ 50,000 = 250,000
2 @ 100,000 = 200,000
2 @ 250,000 = 500,000
80 files totaling 1,250,000
I wanted III to set it up as the latter but it mistakenly got conveyed that we
wanted the former. I didn't feel like paying extra to have it reshuffled.
Remember that the total number of files must be in multiples of 40 and that the
corresponding total number of records must be in likewise multiples of 625,000.
And the smallest allocation file size allowed is 1,000.
Hope this helps.
