- Subject: Circulating non-circulating items to faculty
We have been unable to come up with a solution to our problem, so we're
turning to the collective wisdom of our fellow INNOPACers! Our law
library's circulation desk is often staffed by student assistants only, who
do not have authorization to override blocks. During those times, if law
faculty bring non-circulating items (status o) to the desk, students are not
able to check the items out on Innopac, so they must resort to manually
filling out circulation cards to keep track of the items circulated to
faculty. We tried modifying our loan rule determiners (Rule selection
table), so that faculty have the right to check out any item, regardless of
status. However, when the item is returned, the system changes the status
to - (available). We want the status to revert to o.
If anyone has figured out how to get around this problem, I would greatly
appreciate hearing from you. TIA!
Mary Paige
