- Subject: PC-Circ
Thanks to those of you who replied to my query about PC-Circ posted to this
list on 7 Jan 2000. We only need to use it for our Circulation Desk PCs if
our local network goes down and the FTP server software (WarFTP) that we
had installed on these PCs seems to have been the main cause of our problems.
I loaded the newest version of PC-Circ(downloaded from CSDirect) onto our
PCs, tested it with a few transactions, then copied each PC's circ.dat file
to separate floppy discs, FTP'd them from my PC using Ws_ftp32 to one of
our local servers then 'got' them into Innopac. This sounds very
long-winded but doesn't actually take very long. After this, the actual
processing of the files was pretty quick, although we can see that going
through the error logs, if we had been using PCCirc for any length of time,
would be a long job.
We are now looking to find a better FTP Server software package.
