Presented: Session J4 on Sunday 1:30 - 2:30 in Salon A/B
Description:The ALA/ALCTS Subject Analysis Committee has produced ‘Recommendations for providing access to, display of, navigation within and among, and modifications of existing practice regarding subject reference structures in automated systems.’ This is a best-practices document for librarians and vendors who wish to reexamine how their systems handle subject access. Innovative already fulfills some of the SAC recommendations, and coming developments will address others. There are still recommendations which Innovative either does not address, or could address more completely. The intent of this discussion is to form a core of IUG members to study these recommendations and produce a document for the IUG and Innovative.
