We do not have our Sierra instance set for local holds fulfillment as we are a system that shares one budget and considers materials as "one collection." However, we have a new venture this summer that makes the most sense if I set it up for local holds fulfillment. I'm wondering if someone has figured out a way to do this in a one of situation...one bib and 16 items attached.
We are basically lending passes from local museums etc. One pass for each library. Due to the distances and time delays, we'd like to keep them in the branch instead of travelling around the system to fill the holds.
I can control the checkout to ensure the patron has Home branch as the pick up branch via additional item types and loan rules. The problem is that a bib level hold targets *any* available copy around the system.
So I added volume records hoping patrons will pick the volume for their home library. It's not ideal but might work for 80% of our patrons.
Does anyone have any other ideas???
