Hello Guys,

I’m very excited about our next release of the Sierra REST API and thought I’d give you a sneak preview of what’s to come in version 2.0.

Last year, we released the Sierra Bibliographic and Item APIs, also known as version 1.0. These APIs were designed to enable moving data efficiently from Sierra to a discovery layer to better serve your users. The Marmot Library Network, one of our early Sierra API development partners, uses these Bib and Item APIs to streamline their record updating process and ensure that library users and staff have up-to-date availability information for Marmot’s 1.9 million titles through their VuFind discovery layer.
Soon, we will offer enhanced services through our Sierra API v2.0 to our libraries and third-party development partners to not only move data from Sierra to a discovery layer but also make changes to it.
