Are any libraries keeping track of opt in/out of extra email communication through Sierra? If so, I'm interested to hear how you implemented that. We're thinking in terms of promotional announcements for programs, kick-off events, etc...

I previously administered a SirsiDynix Symphony system, and there was a lot of flexibility to flag patron accounts for various optional services and messaging. I'm still not familiar with how I might do this type of thing in Sierra.

Hi Lisa,

We use field PCode 2 and have it related to a question on our online application that asks if they would like to receive emails and info from the library. Then when it comes time to message we can extract their email address (create list) by looking for those with a "Y" in that field. We do need to export and upload to our messaging system.
