Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone is using something other than EnvisionWare Staff Register as part of your cash handling system. Or if you are using Envisionware, I would appreciate feedback on that as well.

Thank you!

Here at Bloomfield Township Public Library we are using Envisionware's Staff Register. For the most part it works fine. We have had issues with the credit card readers and think it is because the Envisionware software has to work with an outside vendor. Also, because we are an Innovative site we are unable to waive fines from the Staff Register we can only collect partial or full payments.

The administrative part of the software can only be loaded on one PC and that can be restricting when the individual whose PC it is loaded on is not here to run any type of a special report.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

We also use EnvisionWare's STS at Arlington Public Library in VA. We've been using STS for several years, even before we went to Innovative. We're currently on Sierra 3.2 and the most recent STS version. We've had minimal problems as well. The only oddity is that occasionally there's a 1 cent fine left on a patron's Sierra record, even if they have fully paid their fine. It's a bug and we periodically run reports to waive it or we tell staff to waive it if they see it after a patron has fully paid their fines. It doesn't happen too often though.

I agree with Anna that the STS license can only be loaded on to one PC and we cannot afford to purchase more than one license for each of our branches. So, it does hold up the PC if you are using the PC for other things, like reference. Many of our smaller branches have one PC that is the cash register, reference, and circulation.

Happy to answer other questions as well.
