This is a fairly lengthy communiqué, so make sure to read it through! It includes:

Proposed Presentation Topics
Topics of Interest
Agenda for III's Presentations on Day 1
Hotel information for downtown London

Thanks to those of you who have responded and WELCOME to those of you who are receiving this invitation for the first time (I've gotten more contact names and am hoping to be comprehensive to the Eastern Canada area).

For those reading this for the first time, have a look at the previous post which included an invitation to join us for a two day ECIUG meeting at London Public Library October 16 & 17. The first day will include a 5 hour presentation by iii and the start of the hack-a-thon. Most of the member presentations will take place on the 2nd day along with the hack-a-thon and their results later in that afternoon.

Proposed Presentation Topics

*** WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR PRESENTERS!!! Send me your presentation proposals!!! ***

Several people have offered to present. Here are the topics proposed so far.

Have a look and let me know if you're interested in attending:

1. Cleaning up the Branches and Loan Rule Determiner Tables in Sierra

2. Incorporating Unusual Items to Borrow into the Circulating Collection -- Garden Tools, Sports Equipment, etc.

3. How we handled retrieving material/placing holds on 400,000 items sent to offsite store for 8 months. We generated machine-readable barcodes on our PRINT paging lists, then used those lists to scan barcodes into offsite storage facility webform. This depended on using print templates.

4. Homebound patrons -- workflow, profiles, deliveries

5. Decision Center

The following are presentations we did last year, which we could repeat if there is interest:
*Mobile Worklists
*MyLibrary!

Topics of Interest

*I would like to develop a way to automate welcome emails and expiry emails. I believe this may be possible through APIs.
*I would love to find an easy way to display a new book carousel on our website.
*proposed for III: I want to know about how iii will be making many must-needed improvements to Program Registration. The online calendar needs a lot of major work and upgrades.
*Sierra Booking Module – How to implement to book materials in Encore
*III Servers – Moving from turnkey to something else. Who has made this move? Who has moved to AWS with III? How do Sierra services work in Cloud?
*TNS Notification – Implementation of i-tiva
*Linked Data – Metrics needed before we start? Who is doing it? Success? Is there increased use?
*APIs;
*JSON queries
*KnowledgeBase
*Anything with Linked Data, esp Authorities!
*Encore statistics

Agenda for III's Presentations on Day 1 (note: this is a table, so let me know if you can't see it in your email and I'll send it out as text)
