Where can I access conference materials Right Now?
You can still access what was loaded prior to the conference in the conference app.

I don't want to do that from my phone!
You don't have to. You can use your browser and go to http://tinyurl.com/IUG2018app and select the "5html" option. Login with the same email address and password you used to access the app, then choose "Presentation Sessions."

What if I forgot my password?
You're out of luck. Just kidding! There's a "forgot my password" option you can select in order to reset it. If you run into any trouble just email me.

Are they ever going to be posted on the IUG website with updates from presenters?
Yes. We have set up a space using the Forum software on the IUG website that will be dedicated to conference materials.

Why is it taking so long?
I am sincerely sorry for the delay. We had technical difficulties with the IUG website and conference administration system throughout conference planning and that has left the method we've used in the past unworkable. I've been working with Mohamed Ragheb to create this new method, so many thanks to him for his efforts.

So really, when will they be available?
Hopefully we'll have a chunk of them live next week. I will send a notification when the site is live as well as once everything gets loaded.

I presented at the conference and have materials to add or update. What should I do?
I'll be contacting you today or Monday with information and instructions.

What about Innovative's presentations?
They haven't been posted yet, but I expect them to be by May 18. They will be in Supportal. You can find them by going to Knowledgebase, then choosing Downloads, then "IUG presentations." If you expand the facets under Categories and Attributes, you will see individual years to narrow down your search.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this challenge. If you have any questions or have a very specific need, please feel free to contact me directly.

This was very helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to update all of us. The 5HTML option is fantastic.

Hi Renee,
I used the tiny URL and logged on to the app in my browser and the screen display is:
Select Event
There are currently no active events

Please let me know who to contact about this problem - I'd like to view the 2018 IUG presentations. Thanks.
Sylvia

Hey Sylvia-

Questions about logging in would be referred to Kathy O'Gorman, but I'm not sure about not seeing the event. Did you access the event via the app on you phone while at the conference? Are you signing in with the same email address in the app and the HTML5 version? When I signed in I automatically saw the same activity feed. If I switch to a different event, IUG is listed as a past event (which makes sense). Is there a past option for you?

Oh no! That's odd. I was just able to log in and view IUG 2018, so hopefully it's just temporary. You entered your email and password first and then saw that message, is that correct? Or just clicking the link took you to that message?
Here's the full URL if you want to give that a shot: https://dl.doubledutch.me/download.aspx?appId=2fdcd2dc-1a3d-4d17-8cea-93a44a7ecbd7®ion=us";">https://dl.doubledutch.me/download.aspx?appId=2fdcd2dc-1a3d-4d17-8cea-93a44a7ecbd7®ion=us
Let me know if you still can't get in.

I tried logging into Double Dutch on Wednesday and again today (Friday) and it will not load - and I've used both Firefox and Chrome. I want to add my slides as I have had several people reach out to me for them, and there is one thing I learned from my previous work in Quality Assurance is that for the one person who reached out, nine other people just didn't bother. I will fully admit that I missed the original submission deadline on the Thursday prior to the conference, but I did send them in on that weekend. So I have tried to share but not sure where things are at and how the onus is now falling back on the presenters.

I will be honest that I am starting to get frustrated. I noticed the site for the old slides went down when I was at the conference. I could find no comment from IUG regarding the problem. Even after getting back, it was still down. A few comments on the listserv. It seemed to take a while for the IUG steering group to acknowledge the problem. And now I find that as a presenter, I must locate my presentation information (on a site I cannot access), copy and paste that information into our usergroup thread, then upload my slides, so that all presentations will appear as separate web pages in a comments thread. The previous site at least had the ability to filter sessions or general search abilities. It had its challenges but it was workable.

I appreciate that the goal is to try and get the slides into the hands of our community. It is an in-elegant approach to a real problem and I appreciate that. What I find baffling is that we are all librarians and this just doesn't seem like the approach I would have expected from a profession which prides itself on open, transparent communication and known practices for data retention and findability/retreavability.

Maybe my coffee just hasn't hit my bloodstream yet, but yeah I just want to

I'm sorry that you're frustrated. I'd like to help you out. First, I'm not sure who you are because it doesn't appear you were logged into the IUG website when replying to this post. So if you'd like to respond after logging in or contact me directly, I would be happy to help with the presentation materials.

I emailed all (or I thought I got everyone) presenters this week with my apologies along with instructions on how to post conference materials in the new forum category IUG Conferences. I'm really sorry if that didn't get to you. I am more than willing to post your materials there on your behalf -- and that goes for any presenter -- but that makes the post show up under my name which doesn't facilitate any further collaboration that may take place. Also, there's no need to access your own materials via the app -- you can just upload them from wherever you have them locally stored. Many presenters update their files after presenting anyway and might be uploading new versions. If you're looking for the original summary and details, I can certainly add that, plus it's also still listed in the "Printable Program" on the IUG 2018 page of the website.

I'm sorry that I didn't communicate quickly enough to prevent frustration. If anyone else is experiencing problems loading or accessing material, please let me know. I will do whatever I can to help and I appreciate the feedback. The steering committee is investing time and resources to explore a different conference administration solution for next year, but this is what we have to work with right now.

I hope you have a good weekend and plenty of coffee. :)

We have a real, live place for presenters to upload their conference materials from IUG 2018 now! If you haven't discovered it yet or started receiving notifications from the forum, you can check it. You will need to be logged in to the IUG website to view the posts. You can find them by going to the IUG Forum, then IUG Conferences, and then you will see the subcategory for IUG 2018.

Presenters are in the process of posting their materials (thank you, presenters, you are all awesome!) so you will continue to see content added over the next several days.

Also, it appears Innovative 2018 presentations are live on Supportal. Once you log into the Supportal site, go to Knowledgebase -- Downloads -- IUG presentations. Then you can narrow down by year along the lefthand column (IUG conferences and Attributes).

You have the ability to search the forums as a whole for a particular topic, but you can also refine by category or tag. Feel free to post comments or questions on presenters' posts and use the platform as a collaborative space.

Thank you all so much for your patience. I know this is very different from how we've handled presentation materials in the past, but it's the best option for now. If you have any trouble finding or accessing something, definitely let me know!

Thank you!
Renee
